<center> Bright and intelligent, Ava is, when it comes down to it, a closet nerd. That being said, she's feisty and has a semi-dry sense of humor is not exactly unknown in the small but lucrative city of Lantern Hill. Sweet an well-mannered, Ava does not generally allow people to walk over her, unless she's in a situation where she feels particularly inadequate and then she can be easily swayed in her vulnerability. Ava is also a creature of subtlety and finds being the center of attention utterly terrifying. Unintentionally awkward at times; has a difficult time opening up; and is frequently too hard on herself.</center>

Stepping into the lobby the colors scream out at you. All around one can spot signs of school spirit, if not from the many glass cases of trophies, then from the uncountable signs, banners, and posters placed upon the walls by the students.

| log =The lobby, as seem usual for this school at least, keep being rather crowded. Standing around there is among the others the rich boy Gildart. Talking with some before stepping away towards the main entrance.
 
“I am one part positive that my dress was at least 37% prettier than hers, and 1 part positive that the entire event was rigged by that horrible delinquent. I'm still baffled as to how someone with such good breeding can some out so horribly wrong." Ava moves through the crowd, her eyes on her friend as they walk.. There's little concern in her tone for those that fall in her way, though occasionally a small, manicured hand reaches out to brush a lower class-men from her path. "Being adorable does not make chauvinism okay."
 
Perhaps Ava should pay her steps more attention, or perhaps she should invest in more perceptive friends. Whatever the solution, the moment sends her walking face first into the back of the departing jock, unless of course he hears the rapid *click click click* of her heels as she speeds up nearing the door.
 
Gildart does look over towards them but continues until he realizes they are getting quite close. Looking over his shoulder but a bit too late. Running into one another, though he does try to get a hold of her. "Woah there. Careful." He offers with a charming grin. Some British can be heard in his accent as well. "Not that I mind, but you might hurt yourself." He offers, trying to steady her before smiling to Ava and her friends.
 
Ava has a few reactions as she looks up to not only find herself nearly colliding with the jock, but that he's also aware and prepared. For some reason that ignites a rather high pitched squeal, the dropping of an arm load of books and the sudden need to quickly cover her face with those small, daintily painted digits. She does it all, and she does it in record timing. She also freezes in place, her shoulders tightened and her face covered, as if she were expecting the bulk of impact to be lingering just on her heels.
 
Of course the impact is long over, no doubt thanks to the partially British (?) young man in front of her. At the very least he gets a small sigh and a fractional smile as she peeks up through her fingers. "Oh." She /is/ a drama queen after all. In reality the whole reaction was vastly underplayed by the small, dainty blond. "My apologies!"
 
Gildart does get the books onto his foot, jerking it a bit. Then he laughs as she squeals, making sure that she is steady. "Oh, it is quite fine. It's cute." He teases with a wink. Kneeling down to help her get her books up. "Apologies that I surprised you though." Standing up to offer the books back. "I'm Gildart Dunmore." He offers. The family name quite well known all over. "Anything else I can do for you?" He asks with an almost flirty smile.
 
Ava laughs, though she accepts the books back, and while she is listening as he speaks she quickly takes to checking them for mud. After all..boys shoes are filthy, are they not? Pleased that she has managed to walk away with unsoiled books, she allows him a upward glance, no doubt through her lashes. "Hmm. Dunmore. Didn't someone paint a giant picture of male genitalia on your car at Homecoming?" Still, she offers him a wide, red glossed smile toward him.
 
Gildart does keep his shoes rather clean. Smiling to her. Tilting his head and raising a brow as she speaks. "Well, what can you do when people are jealous?" He suggests, chuckling a bit. "Most likely Mayfield. We did beat their asses after all." He offers to her.
 
Ava hmms, "Yes, is suppose you did. Not that I was there. I don't do football games. They're to loud, and everyone sweats and that's gross." She wrinkles her nose before offering the friend at her side a small nod as a farewell. The black girl, with her perfectly curled hair, departs without much interest in their conversation. Her sights are far to invested in the screen of her cell. "Mayfield does have a reputation for disliking anything to do with failure. I suppose it has to do with so many large egos in such a small building." She smiles, proud of her suggestion before she steps to the side. "You may walk me to my car."
 
There is a bit of a chuckle from Gildart as she speaks, "Well, perhaps. Though it is quite fun still." Nodding a bit to the leaving girl before looking back to Ava. Running a hand through his hair. "Mayfield do have some petty reactions perhaps." As for her last words he laughs, but offers his arm to lead her out. "You may be allowed my company." He counters with a grin.
 
Ava laughs gently, though she does take his arm, it being the proper thing to do. "Good sportsmanship is not a personality trait held by overly privileged people in most cases. It is the product of being humbled, and of losing, and hearing the word no which can be particularly devastating to someone used to getting their way a majority of the time." She then pauses in her words, her lips pulling into a small thoughtful pout. "To be honest I really suspected that other boy of messing with your car. What's his name? Casey? Konnor?" She pauses again, "You know him. I believe his last name is Black. The Hollywood boy."
 
Gildart nods a bit. Listening as she speaks. "I suppose that is true." Though not continue on that, just smiling rather pleased. Though as she speaks of Black, he nods, "I thought as much. Hence why I want to speak to a friend of mine. She was with him at the time. We shall see though." He offers and shrugs. "Thank you though. And unless I heard wrong as you bumped into me, you wished for homecoming queen?" He asks with a small grin.
 
Ava snorts. "Of course I did. All girls do, but mostly my dress was much prettier than that wretched Isabelle's. And everyone knows she buys votes for everything. She's horrible" She smiles in spit of her words as they step closer to the parking lot. "I suppose though that if she spent the money she at least deserved to get her moneys worth, right?" Her words prove she's far less concerned than she may have invested in the topic earlier. She turns to scan the lot again as she allows a small shoulder to roll, "Prom is a much bigger deal anyway. Everyone knows that. And she can't win then, because she's not a senior." And she gets a smug delight in that.
 
Gildart grins, "Unfortunately your date might not have been enough to help you out." He suggests with a teasing grin. Laughing a bit about Isabelle unable to win then. "Poor her then." Letting his gaze sweep over the area a bit. "I am sure you will win next time. No matter what it is."

She sends him a small flutter of her lashes before she delights in spotting her car, a black SUV with windows Just as dark. The truck rolls slowly to the edge of the curb, a sign that Ava takes in stride. "It was nice spending time with you Gildart Dunmore, thank you very much for not letting me fall on my face. I should go."
 
Gildart chuckles, "Well, it's working isn't it?" He offers with a little chuckle of his own. Helping her to her car. Opening if she allows to let her in. "My pleasure. And as for your name? I think perhaps I can get at least such?" He asks. Perhaps not knowing the names of everyone in his year.
 
Ava laughs, perhaps she was unaware that he'd not known her name. Chances are higher that she simply forgot to introduce herself in the first place. "Oh, sorry." She snickers as she adjusts her seat-belt. "Ava Valentine." The man driving the truck coughs impatiently causing Ava to glance his way. "Apparently John has somewhere to be." She decides loudly. "It was nice talking. See you later."
