*Garnet is deaf. She has no hearing ability! However, she is very good at reading lips. She prefers to write back to people if they are not speakers of ASL. Do you know American Sign Language? She'd be tickled to talk to you!

*Garnet does not have a Father, only a mother. Her dad skipped town when she was three and her mother raises her all alone.

*She has a part-time job! At her mothers' second job, she has taken up data entry. A burger-flipping job was not in the cards because of her communication issues.
