Alice is nervous, twitchy, and awkward to an extreme. This actually has a lot of people think she's shy or antisocial; this is not the case. It's really just that her mind races far ahead of her mouth and she is constantly analyzing the situation she's in, resulting in a form of analysis paralysis. Eliminating variables (such as chatting online without all that distracting body language and inflection) helps matters a lot.
