Mayfield Prep is unarguably one of California's most a elite prep schools. Created over one hundred years ago, the school caters to the rich and famous, allowing their children to get the best possible education and etiquette training while keeping clear of the riffraff of the local communities.

Located just outside of Lantern Hill, Mayfield sits on 60 acres of land, its stone and ivy covered buildings providing one of the more pleasing sights located in the area. The school grounds are surrounded by stone walls. the school grounds consist of a state of the art Student Union, Admin Building, Gym and 7 class buildings as well as newly redone athletic fields. There is also a riding stable where students are free to board their own personal horses, or have the option to rent one of the schools well bred steeds.

The students of Mayfield attend classes in their own little insulated community, seldom intermixing with the locals. Despite this weekends are another story, and the preppy privet school students are often seen Friday through Sunday on the city streets as they enjoy shopping, beaches and of course, the FireFly.

School Sports
The purpose of the athletic program at Mayfield prep is to teach discipline, self-confidence and leadership. MPA is a member of the Tri-Valley League, which includes private and public schools in Monterey County.
