    Cost: 1-3pt
    You have a physical addiction. The higher the umber the higher the severity of the addition. This does not cover minor addictions like sugar, caffeine and nicotine. Will not approve pot as an addiction. If you are denied your substance for 48 hours you must roll Willpower(Diff 4) or you will enter withdrawals.
    1 - Easily found (Painkiller)
    2 - Alcoholism
    3 - Street Drugs.

  • Bad Divorce
  • Type: Disadvantages

    Your house is a war zone when it comes to your parents. They no longer live together, and that's a very good thing. The divorce was nasty and the relationship between them still is. Maybe it was about money, cheating or even custody over you. Either way, they hate one another and you occasionally get put in the middle.

    You're eyesight is BAD. Not so bad that normal pair of glasses or contacts work, but so bad that you basically need coke bottle glasses to see. Consider yourself Velma from Scooby Doo. You're legally blind without them.
  • Blind

    Cost: 6pt
    You cannot see /at all/. This may be the way you were born, or may have come about after an accident. Whatever happened, even medical aids cannot help you to see. While this did leave your hearing more sensitive, it does not allow you to navigate without trouble. You are dependent on help to navigate in unfamiliar locations. You also cannot excel at things where sight is important, such as dance, art or sports.

    You've lost too much in your life and it's left you cynical and prone to anger when things don't work out. Despite your outlook, you haven't actually given up just yet.
  • Controlling Parents

    Cost: 3pt
    Your parents just aren't ready to let you live your own life. True you may not be legally an adult, but their hold is so tight that you have few choices to make. This can either cause someone to be very unsure of themselves, or very rebellious. Either way any parties you attend you probably either lie to them about your location, or sneak out after lights out. This hinders your social and dating life in a very real way, as your friends and romantic interests are expected to meet your parents approval, as is your academic achievements.
    These level of your parents control will need to be laid out clearly in your background. This will also be expected to appear in RP and character development.
  • Criminal Record

  • Dark Secret
  • Type: Disadvantages
    Cost: 1pt
    You have a deep dark secret that is best left hidden. This secret should be something that runs the risk of surfacing on occasion. Be prepared to face the consequences of this ICly (never bad for RP). This is a secret that is much more important to the story than being gay or sleeping with your receptionist.
  • Dead Parents

    This is different from a 'bad divorce'. Your parent or parents are dead and you live with an older sibling, grandparent(s) or other guardian of blood relation. We do not approve emancipated teens.
  • Deaf

    Cost: 4pt
    You cannot hear /at all/. This may be the way you were born, or may have come about after an accident. Whatever happened, even medical aids cannot help you to hear and you must communicate through lip-reading (if applicable) ad ASL (American Sign Language).

  • Flashbacks
  • Type: Disadvantages
    Cost: 3pt
    You experienced something so traumatic that to this day you still suffer flashbacks from it. This is not something as trivial as a scary movie or a scary bedtime story. Rather this is something that shook your life to its core, such as being severely injured or witnessing a death.
    You will need to provide a 'trigger' for this that explains when your flashbacks happen as well as fully explain, in detail, what it was that occurred.
  • Hard of Hearing

    Your hearing is not what it should be. This is no so mild that you just get by with a 'huh', rather you rely on medical aids to hear.
  • Intolerance
  • Type: Disadvantages
    Cost: 1pt
    You have an unreasonable dislike of something. This is not a trivial dislike, but a life altering hate. You suffer a +2 Diff to rolls involving involving this hate.
  • Learning Disability
  • Type: Disadvantages
    Cost: 2pt
    You have a disability that effects your abilities in school. Maybe you're dyslexic, or maybe you're ADD? Maybe you're ADHD? Either way you struggle with your classes if left on your own. You may learn to cope, but special help makes things easier for you. You may not mind having these things wrong with you, but then again, you may not want anyone to know.
  • Low Self-Esteem

    Cost: 2pt
    You lack any real self-confidence. You face a -2 diff in situations when you depend on yourself and yourself alone to succeed. To ignore your low self-image you much roll Willpower.
  • Mental Illness

  • Naive

    You're a good person and are always the last to suspect wrongdoing or bad intentions in people.
  • Neglectful Parents

    It doesn't mean they don't love you, but your parent(s) just don't do their job. Maybe they think being your friend is better than being a parent, or maybe they are so overworked and tired they let things slip? Maybe they just don't care at all. Either way you cook, clean and tend to yourself. The only thing your parent does is pay the bills.

    You experience nightmares when you sleep. Sometimes nightmares can cause a loss of 1 die to all attributes (consider it exhaustion).

    You follow the crowd almost religiously. It may be a burning desire to fit in or maybe you just lose yourself in the emotions of those around you, but you seldom think for yourself (or realize how bad some ideas are) when you're around your friends.

    You actually believe that everyone is out to get you. You face a +1 diff to all social interactions involving trust of any kind.

    You must roll Courage at Diff 6 to remain in its presence.

    You're quick to anger and flying off the handle at the smallest thing. It doesn't take much to send you into a rage.

    you are ill at ease when dealing with people and often try to avoid social situations because of this. Because of this you are at a Diff +1 on all social rolls with full attention drawn to you.
  • Single Parent

    Your house runs on one parents income and one parents attempts to...well, be a parent. Maybe your other parent is living happily elsewhere in town? Maybe you don't know them. Maybe they have another family in another state? Either way your one parent holds the burden on raising you.

    You cannot stand seeing suffering in those around you. You cannot turn don the opportunity to help someone who needs you. This may make you a doormat to some people. You must roll at a +2 diff to refuse to help someone who needs you.
  • Speech Impediment

    Cost: 1pt
    You have a stammer or speech impediment. You face a +2 diff to social rolls to properly communicate when stressed.
  • Struggling Student

    You were either taken from your parents or put up for adoption at some point, but one way or another you ended up in the system. You now live with a foster family.
  • Wild Child
  • Type: Disadvantages
    Cost: 3pt
    Maybe you have controlling parents or maybe you just love to be a rebel, but you live to break rules and nothing gives you more cause then to be told not to do something.
    Remember that rebellion is not a pass to do anything you want, or a pass to ignore common sense. Very real consequences can come from making back IC choices. All rules were not made to be broken! (This is not normal teenage rebellion.)
