Jake/Introduction

Jake is very guarded. It's not that he can't be friendly or even playful; its just that it only goes so far before acquaintances find themselves hitting a wall. And he isn't afraid to push people away if he feels they are getting too close. He is ashamed of his family's criminal past, but stubbornly proud that he's not a member of one of the rich and institutional families of Lantern Hill. This pride manifests itself in a strong aversion to authority and rules, but also a certain dignity of carriage. He has a stubborn streak a mile long.
