Log
It's a cool autumn evening, just a couple days before Halloween. It's a Sunday and the sun has gone down, but the festival downtown is in full swing. Vendors line the perimeter of the square while all sorts of contests take place. There's an apple-bobbing booth, a pumpkin carving contest, and a stage set up for local talent. Currently Donny is up there, finishing a song.

Zoe is currently standing next to the stage, waiting for her turn to go on. She's busy finishing up the final tuning of her acoustic guitar. She takes a couple of deep breaths as soon as she's finished, pacing back and forth, trying to shake the nerves that are starting to build up.

Zoe is currently standing next to the stage, waiting for her turn to go on. She's busy finishing up the final tuning of her acoustic guitar. She takes a couple of deep breaths as soon as she's finished, pacing back and forth, trying to shake the nerves that are starting to build up. She takes a deep breath before she looks up to Donny, listening to the music, trying to get the calm vibes from him that he seems to be emitting. Her head bobbing slightly with the song.

Donny finishes and stands, nodding and waving to the smattering of applause he gets from his few fans. He steps off after unplugging his guitar and smiles to the girl, who looks familiar from school. "Good luck..." he says.. "It's a Sunday night crowd.. not exactly partiers." He says by way of advice and a crowd analysis. He slings his guitar over his back before he can get it to the gig bag behind the stage.

Zoe smiles at the advice, nodding her head slightly. "Thanks. Good job up there." She offers while she waits to be introduced. "I've only got one song, but I'm going to give it all I've got." She offers with a nervous chuckle. Finally, it's time for her to take the stage. She heads up the stage and takes a seat on the stool. Thankfully she didn't trip. "H-Hey guys. I'm... I'm Zoe. This is a song I wrote called Reignite." She says, before she starts to play the song. http://tinyurl.com/m3h2h4j

Donny nods and raises an eyebrow when the girl starts. He recognizes the backing tune. He reaches into his gig bag and pulls out a notebook, jotting something down before replacing it and then putting the guitar in as well. He zips it up and swings it over his shoulder before returning to the bottom of the steps to listen to the rest.

Zoe starts off fairly nervous, but seems to grow more confident as the song progresses, getting into the rhythm. Her eyes close as she sings and plays finding her groove. She really gets into the song, smiling as the song ends. She opens her eyes and stands from the seat, smiling at whatever applause she gets from the crowd before she heads off stage, letting out a deep breath.

Donny applauds as Zoe comes off stage. "Not bad, but you need a piano backing you up on that." He smiles, offering a piece of paper with his info and his hand. "I'm Donny. You go to North Shore, right? I've been looking for musical people."

Zoe smiles and looks up as she hears the applaud from Donny. "Thanks and nods her head. "Yeah. It would have been better to have backup, but whatcha gonna do?" She offers with a slight shrug of her shoulders. The question about the school causes her to nod and smiles. "Yeah. I'm a junior there." She offers before she tilts her head slightly at the next part. "Really? For what?" She asks, with a slight raise of her eyebrow as she slings her guitar over one shoulder by the strop.

Donny smirks. "I want to put something together. A band of sorts. I play guitar and keys.." He gestures.. "Which you could've used..." *hinthint* He holds out a piece of paper. "Here's my info if you're interested. No pressure, but you're really good. We could get something going."

Zoe smiles and nods as she takes the paper, looking it over as she nods. "Really? A band?" She looks up at him and smirks. "You know, I was thinking about trying to get the same thing going." She offers with a soft laugh. She crosses her arms across her chest as she looks at him. "What kind of genre are you thinking of?"

Donny nods. "Great minds think alike. The name's Donny." He points to the paper so she can see that it's on there. "I'll take anything right now. If we've got rappers, I'll take 'em. We can get a Linkin Park vibe. If we've got country we can do that too. I just want to have fun and showcase talent." He's getting excited, flapping his arms around. "Bands like DragonForce and Bang Camaro have, like, twenty people in there band. Look at Arcade Fire!" He smiles, passionate about his music. "Sorry.. I just love explaining the concept."

Zoe laughs and nods, offering a hand to her. "Nice to meet you Donny. I'm Zoe." She offers with a smile before she listens to the explanation of the band. "That's cool. I'm mostly a classical, pop, grunge, rock type girl." She says with a soft laugh. "I wouldn't mind trying to expand to other genres though." She thinks about it for a few moments before she nods. "It does sound like a fun plan. Count me in." She says with a warm smile.

Donny beams, arms wide open in a cheer. "Yes.. Well.. I mean, we don't have anything formal set up. Let me know when you have some free time and we can jam and put our heads together." He smiles. "Thanks. Have a good night. Oh! If you have any ideas, just call me." His energy is through the roof at the moment. He waves and heads off.

Zoe smiles and nods, slipping the paper in her pocket as she laughs at his reaction. "Will do. I'll give you a text so you have my number too." She offers him a wave before he starts to head off. "Catch you around and see you at school." She says, a smile on her lips before she heads off to put her guitar away and enjoy the rest of the festivities.
