Thomas and Maggie Fowler are an upper middle class family that resides in Glenmaura Heights. The who have taken it upon themselves to take in foster children. The Couple have five children, none biologically (two adopted, three fostered). For medical reasons.

The Black family (or whats left of it) is a scandal all in themselves. Victoria Black (once known as local girl Victoria Rae) was one of the few aspiring actresses to strike it big in Hollywood. Her fame only skyrocketed after her marriage to successful movie producer Andrew Black. It took yet another turn when her husband was killed in a horrible one car accident. The tabloids had a field day with Black as she spiraled into habits of parties and drinking, drowning her career and bringing her long running television series (a well rated and popular detective drama 'Blue Heat') to an abrupt halt. Black and one of her twin sons moved back to Lantern Hill shortly after the series was canceled. The second son followed one year later.

Update: Since her return to Lantern Hill, the Blacks have not faded into the limelight. Rather the opposite. The family continued to be the source of tabloid and media scandal as Victoria's party lifestyle continued. One of Victoria's children also managed to make several waves in town when disruptive behavior and seemingly endless mental health issues forced the family out of the lavish community of Glenmaura Heights and into the middle class community of Faircrest Court. trouble continued to follow the family for another year before Blacks son was hospitalized for an overdose from a popular street drug and then again for self-inflicted injuries. Black was later arrested and sentenced to prison for 3 counts of attempted murder, and seven counts of causing grievous bodily harm. Black has since been diagnosed with munchausen by proxy. The twins continue to reside in Lantern Hill under the watchful eye of their perturnal grandmother.
